“Maggie’s Pail”

“Maggie”… with her bright-red pail & blond hair shining in the beautiful Cape Cod summer sun, was for me as an artist; a fantastic subject to paint. The colors of yellow & red are compliments to one another; while the ocean water in the background, with the full shadow created by only part of a child, (an effect that was created by ‘cropping’ the original photo for composition value); I thought gave the painting more interest. Although this painting has been sold, it could be recreated.

I apologize for the image quality, this was taken back in 1998 with an older digital camera, and then enlarged as a much smaller image.
